Many companies are now on the lookout for experienced and hardworking customer service agents. You may need some training but you can always answer the phone at home. You may have to provide administrative support with data processing or paperwork, or you may have to work directly with clients to help resolve any issue they are facing. Many customer service rep jobs pay you anywhere between $8 and $15 per hour, which is definitely a great start.
Laura notes that her husband has struggled with feeling that he isn’t a financial team member in their marriage, but she doesn’t see it that way at all. “Ron tends to worry more about spending money than I do because he feels like he is not contributing anything to our income,” she explains. “But I think his being a house husband and SAHD is contributing.”
Renee Belbeck, a WAHM from Columbus, Ohio, and C.E.O. and founder of the National Association of W.O.M.E.N. (Women, Owners, Moms, Entrepreneurs, and Networkers), discovered a simple rule when her children were toddlers: "If I gave them a little quality time, I'd get two hours to work." She says the rule still holds true, even though her children are now 10 and 6.

Once you have great content, you can join one of several affiliate marketers. The concept here is to link from your blog to another website that sells something. For example, Amazon.com has a very robust affiliate program and if you read a book and write a review, you can link your review to Amazon and if you are an affiliate, you can earn money for clicks from your site and a commission when an item is sold. Two affiliate sites that are worth exploring are Commission Junction and LinkShare.
If you listen to music all day like I do, you’ll love this program. All you need to do is listen to unsigned bands and artists online and submit a review at Slicethepie. Active users with high reputations are earning an extra $50+ per month for just 5-10 min a day listening to some aspiring music talents. It may not seem much, but stick it in a savings account and that’s $50 more than what you had before!

Hello! Thank you so much for the article I am always looking for new ways to be able to work from home. I homeschool my children and I also get bored easily ;-} So I appreciate it! I have been working at Tried and True Ways to Work From Home for about a year now and they allow you pick and choose your jobs and hours (non-sales and they NEVER ask for money like some of these other WFH places) I want to learn more about affiliate marketing and start my own site/blog. Do you have any more tips on that?
For example, though telecommuting is technically a “stay-at-home” job, companies generally still expect their telecommuters to be available during regular business hours. The following are the best jobs for stay at home moms (and dads!) available, which allow parents to actually spend time with their kids and generate enough income so they don't have to take in a boarder:
Just about everyone’s got a blog now, right? Heck, I have more than I can count with both hands! But for good reason… it’s where I make most of my hands-free income from affiliate commissions, Google AdSense, and sponsored advertisers. You get to choose what your blog is about, when to write, what products to promote, and what types of ads to feature. Have you been curious about starting a food blog? Maybe a parenting blog? How about a marketing blog? Or a fashion blog? The possibilities are endless and getting one set up is easy as one, two, three! Check it out!
Every SAHD I spoke with told me that when they meet someone for the first time, they’re asked, “Where is the mother?” and “Are you babysitting?” This is a parenting stereotype where it’s automatically assumed that a father would only be with his kids if he was “babysitting.” That, as a male, he wouldn’t be taking a genuine interest in spending quality time with his children unless he’d been directed to. Yes, most kids are watched by women, but this did annoy the dads, as they felt it was demeaning.
You already spend way too much time pinning on Pinterest and posting fabulous pics on Instagram. Now get paid for your social-media savvy! Doing outstanding work will make you eligible for additional social-media projects. To qualify, you’ll have to perform online daily social-media use (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.), have strong communication skills and a high-speed Internet connection.
With advances in technology and with corporate attitudes being more acceptive of telecommuting, there are more work-at-home positions than ever before! In fact, according to FlexJob’s annual analysis of the top companies that hire remote workers, there was a 52 percent increase in the number of telecommuting jobs from 2015 to 2016 — that's up 11 percent from the year before!
It’s fairly easy to build your own website if you take advantage of the many free learning opportunities online. However, much of the population isn’t equipped to build their own site, or doesn’t have the time, which is why so many people make a living building websites and blogs for others. According to the BLS, around 16% of web developers were self-employed in 2016, with the vast majority able to work at home, or anywhere with a laptop and speedy Internet connection.
Now, back to the bad news. The best way to get a full-time, work-from-home job is to already be employed a company, or in an industry, where people telecommute or work remotely. If you’re an editor or a graphic designer at a magazine, it’s decidedly easier to go freelance or find a publication that doesn’t require you to be in the office than if you’re a bank teller. Same is true of sales jobs, a lot of which can be done at home or in a coffee shop as long as you have a phone and an internet connection. The absolute best way for a parent to get a work-from-home job, assuming they’re in a field that affords the flexibility, is to talk to your employer and work out an arrangement. It’s a simple as that. The boss may say no, but it never hurts to ask.
You can earn up to $110,000 working as an audit manager. You will be responsible for operational and financial audits for clients and companies. Your job responsibilities may include planning, leading, and executing internal audits. You will also have to document audit-related info and work with stakeholders to help them understand the impact of the audit.
How to Get It: Customer service is the biggest work-at-home field, with companies including Spiegel, Hilton, Best Western, HSN, 1-800-FLOWERS and many others using at-home reps. Fill out an application with staffing companies such as Arise, Alpine Access, VIPdesk, LiveOps, and Convergys, all of which vet the companies who are hiring through them. If you need benefits, search through a staffing company that will hire you as an employee (Alpine Access, VIPdesk and Convergys do this) rather than an independent contractor. If you're a contractor, you may be asked to pay a small fee (between $15 and $35) for a background check. While a fee can be a sign of a scam, independent contractors are responsible for their own expenses.
That said, there’s good news: If you’re searching for a work-from-home job because you’re looking for the kind of flexibility you can’t get being tied to a desk for nine hours a day, you’re absolutely in luck. Working remotely, assuming your employer is okay with projects being done on your timeline, can be a godsend for parents. The arrangement allows you to work around daycare and preschool schedules, take kids to doctors appointments and soccer practice, and rarely if ever stress when they wake up with a fever and you need to stay home. Working from home can make life, especially if both parents are employed full time, infinitely easier.
In the APS study above, telecommuters reported that they missed developmental opportunities by working from home. Some felt stigmatized by their colleagues and like they didn’t “belong.” They also felt left out on key face-to-face moments with managers that could’ve possibly led to promotions and advancement. Again, the hit isn’t necessarily felt in moments of long-lost happy hours, it’s to your pocket.
Jennifer and Steve made the decision a couple of years ago that Jenn would work as a professional for a local company and Steve would be the full-time, caregiving stay-at-home dad. But while Steve loves this opportunity to raise their two young children, he misses a little of the independence he had before the children came. Steve has been checking online for jobs that he could do from home to earn a little extra money but finds himself confused by many of the at-home opportunities for the additional income.

Hi Emma, Sorry to hear about your job loss and we hope things are going better for you. The jobs and resources in this post have been researched and they are legitimate. My advice to you would be to determine what marketable skills you have that could help you earn an income from an online job. Can you type well? Are you a skilled writer or editor? Do you have amazing organizational skills? Are you good at problem solving? If you are still in need of a job you should look into customer service rep positions or maybe even look into direct sales if you are a people person. Good luck!
