You don't have to be an English expert or have a journalism background either. There are plenty of successful blogs and businesses looking to hire writers to share their personal experiences. Some of these sites will even pay you upfront for your articles which is great if you're looking to make some quick cash.
Is caregiving the “death blow” to the male ego? Is changing diapers and collecting breast milk from your wife before she dashes off to her board meeting eating away at their testosterone levels? If it is, and this is the role you find yourself in, it’s time to communicate those feelings to your wife or to a professional.  Why?  Because those feelings may start to erode your relationship.

You do not need serious skills for this because all you have to do is enter specific information into computer programs. Having a high-speed internet connection and good typing speed will help you enter data quickly and earn more money as a result. Just keep in mind that data entry jobs are usually the easiest, but they are the cheapest as well.
It’s completely okay to say you’ve been staying at home with your children for the past few years. In fact, employers will appreciate your dedication. Include this on your applications and even in your resume if the gap has been significant. Make sure you stress to the employer what you’ve learned during this time. I’d be willing to bet your patience, time management and organizational skills have greatly improved and these are all traits employers cherish. By bringing in your strengths as a stay at home parent, you’ll prove to the employer you’ve continued to learn and you’ll be an asset to their team.

A great way to make new connections in your area is to join professional organizations. These can be as general as a chamber of commerce or as specific as the Public Relations Society of America. These groups look great on your resume and they are a perfect way to get to know people in your profession. In addition, many times these organizations post new job openings on their website or announce them at meetings, before the general public knows about them.
Being a stay-at-home-dad doesn’t mean you need to put your career on the sidelines entirely. There are many skills or careers that are conducive to working from home: everything from social media management, editing and writing, to graphic design and even accounting, can lead to lucrative contract work. A quick search on Monster.ca’s career section can turn up results in the freelance world!
Obviously you know that your resume is important. But have you thought about what to include? We’re Dad. Just Dad. Dads who made a career change or office relocation only following a fully-informed decision. Reach out to your friends, the parents of your children’s friends and your former coworkers to see if they know of any openings.
Soon after the column appeared I got a call from the Boston ABC TV affiliate WCVB TV “The Boston Channel.”  They wanted to get a local angle on dads returning to work. "I can usually get in 20 minutes of work before he grows restless," she says. If Jonas wakes up while she's on a work call and begins crying, O'Donnell has trained herself to resist hanging up and rushing right in to check on him. "It hurts a little bit to listen to him," she says. "But it won't kill me -- or him." Plus, she believes it's important for him to learn how to soothe himself.
In Mark’s case, he admits that he struggled with his eventual role into becoming a full-time self-professed “house husband,” reducing his hours at work and then eventually quitting all together when the couple welcomed baby number two. “It had been a huge adjustment for me, going from working full-time to part-time to eventually not working,” Mark says. “But I realized that Carol and I are a team. I understand that Carol’s career is the law and that my career is being married to Carol. I’m widely known as ‘Carol’s husband,’ and that’s OK.”

They know how to maximize their time, because they are moms, and know what a resource time is. Many are also willing to work for less than you would pay if hiring full-time, simply because they want the flexibility of still putting their family first. When I started my career in 1972, my husband and I both worked.  We didn’t have kids yet.  In those days, married couples were the ones having children.  After my kids were born, I divorced and became a single mom. Things have changed within a few generations. According to the Census Bureau, in 1974, a married couple headed 84 percent of all families with children, and from 1974 to 2015, the rate of families with children headed by a single mother nearly doubled – from 14.6 percent to 26.4 percent.  By the way, the rate of single fatherhood quadrupled from 1.4 percent to 8.1 percent. Today, almost 70 percent of women with children work outside the home.
